914 words deleted, 775 words so far replacing them. Now if I can just get somewhere in the vicinity of an ending, that'd be great. Sooner rather than later so I'm not sending the poor thing off to be beta'd like the day before the deadline ( Read more... )

If I can help in any way, please let me know. Sometimes a second pair of eyes can be helpful at this stage. Of course, with the whole game element of the Exchange, I won't be offended if you want to keep it between you and your beta.

Thanks so much for the offer, but I think I'd best not. As you say, there's the whole game element.

OT but related, I was surprised how quickly I found a beta who wasn't participating, since it really seems like everybody is. And then I was surprised to learn that the mods will match people up to beta even if they are participating, which just seems like an insane amount of extra work for them.

There are lots of participants this time. I'll probably be working on it until the last moment (I'm away that weekend so my last moment is a couple of days before the deadline). I hope to get the rest of it done this weekend, but I know myself well enough to realise that I'll be tinkering with it afterwards.

::snicker:: I quite understand.

I have three things I do when I'm blocked. I either take a long shower (I know, but it works,) a long walk by the ocean, or write something entirely different. Somehow these things jolt me out of my impasse.
