And the surgery went well
It started LATE! Finally got the call about an hour ago that he was out of surgery and doing fine, but also not up for taking any phone calls because his neck and arm are too stiff and sore and probably will be through tomorrow. I don't care, it's done and he's ok!
They decided to put in the kind that also has a defibrillator. Which is odd, since his pulse so far goes low, not high. But all things considered, it sounds like a sensible precaution. They'll be running tests tomorrow to make sure it is functioning properly, and then sending him home.
