my Borat review
NO SPOILERS
I must admit, I was severely disappointed.
I think I saw all of the funniest bits online (either in the trailer or on YouTube).
I was surprised at how much of it was scripted. I suppose for a feature film they felt the need for some linear story.
The humor also seemed much less subtle than the usual Borat segments (perhaps this was to capitalize on Borat's existing audience's desire for more of the usual as well as to not lose new audiences).
Perhaps some of my unhappiness was the result of the horrible movie going experience.
...We waited in a packed lobby for over an hour with what seemed like the entire UCB campus.
One would be better off just watching all the Borat segments and extras from Da Ali G Show dvd's.
Even some really funny shit that was cut from the film is available on YouTube.
Now is time for the running of the Jew.
