So I'm looking at stuff and find that my version of PHP and MySQL aren't high enough for some of the stuff I want to install on the server. No problem; Tera-Byte's nice enough that if I ask to be upgraded to a new account, they'll give me a new webspace, give me time to set everything up nice and neat, and then delete my old webspace and point the domain to the new one. I've done this twice before.
Last time I did this, though, something went terribly wrong with the wiki backup, and I lost a good chunk of the articles on AlcedeaWiki. I trust MediaWiki's backup procedure as far as I can throw a man (and that's not far). However, looking at the text table, it's all stored in binary, making it impossible for me to grab any articles that might have been lost. Sky checked the backup and everything SEEMS to be there, but I'm still worried until it's actually restored and I see it's all there.
I was up until 2 AM working on this. I was getting weird errors here and there, and one rather critical error that I sent an e-mail to tech support about.
The response? There's something wrong with the account, and they'll just make me a new one.
Goddammit.
