The sketchbook paper was actually starting to rip because I tend to press rather hard with the pencils and because I kept messing up / erasing the hair. :( I'd recommend a thicker, higher quality paper before trying a realistic drawing. I had apparently forgotten that important note of information. xD
Yeah, I know what you mean I tend to erase a lot on my drawings/sketches. The sketchbooks I usually get have pretty thick paper, which is great for watercolors :3
Yeeeah I should invest in those kinds more. xD Good for you! I tend to prefer smaller notebooks, which gets me into trouble because the paper in them is usually much thinner. /sigh
*pat pat* I used to favour smaller notebooks, but I found that I never have enough room to finish my drawings :/ So I switched over to the larger ones :3
Yeah! I've tried switching to larger ones all the time because like you said, it's really easy to run out of room on a smaller sheet of paper, but I guess I'm so used to drawing a certain size that I never fill UP a big sheet of paper, either. :/
Plus I can't lug around giant sketchbooks with me on my commute, as much as I'd like to. :( It would make my drawings so much better if I could though!

Er, just a random sketchbook and mechanical pencil (0.5 mm HB and 2H lead). :) I'm lazy, haha.
