FANART: Lee Pace as Thranduil
Because my love for Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit knows no bounds. :) <3
This drawing took me a good month 'cause I was doodling on it on/off my daily commute, but I'm glad it's finally done because it was making me angst about details. The face was based off a shot of Lee Pace (the actor cast as Thraduil) from another movie, while the hair / clothes / tiara (I HATED drawing that thing) were designed / made-up by me, with a helpful dose of inspiration from Orlando's Legolas. :p
I thought about giving him really long, wavy hair, but Legolas's hairstyle was much easier / simplier to draw so I went with that. I figured they probably won't change the hairstyle of the Mirkwood elves much between the LOTR movies and the Hobbit movies. In the end, it made Lee look even more like Orlando's Legolas than I originally planned. I'm not complaining though. :)
