Bill Gates is so close, yet so far. D8
EDIT: There are 10 (count 'em, TEN) bomb squad vans right outside my dorm with Pittsburgh police in full gear. The confusing thing is, there's nothing near my dorm. What the hell are they doing here? @_@;
Currently, Bill Gates is having a presentation in my uni's newest building (the Gates Center, which he paid for) but students aren't allowed to see him in person. Which means that he is within four buildings of where I'm currently sitting and there's absolutely no way I can get to him unless I want to be shot by security. Fail. :/ (They're broadcasting his presentation live into our auditorium, but I can get that online so it doesn't count.) It's really frustrating to know that so many famous people are going to be within half a mile of campus (or ON campus) this week and I probably won't be allowed to see any of them.
That's why I'm going to try my damnest to go see that talk by the Australian Prime Minister this Thursday even though I don't have a clue what he'll say. (I do love his country though. 8D Does that count? WALLABIES FOREVER. <3)
Also, more updates of campus: they're currently layering our school windows with film (O___o; seriously) to make them shatterproof in case the protests that will inevitably happen get out of hand.
