W00t! Olympics are finally here! (I think....)

D: Opening ceremonies of the Olympics started two hours ago, right? ;A; I don't know how to watch it from the States, since supposedly it won't be live broadcast and we'll only get it at prime time (8 pm) here. My Mom said there was some way to watch it online though --does anyone know where? X_x

Hehe, I found out the Olympics start today and end the day I go back to school, which is really nice except for the fact that I'll be on a trip for half that time. ;___________________; Nuuuu... I wanna see diving and gymnastics and stuff...

They still didn't let wushu into the Olympics, right? *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh* I was so hopeful... WUSHU IS THE BOMB.

EDIT: Ah, yes, so a very good family friend of mine returned from China after staying there for half a year. She was there to teach English, but since she was in Sichuan (we're from the same area :D), she lived through the earthquake and had to help out there for quite a while. She said something very important to me yesterday that made me wince. "The government's lying. They kept a ton of what happened there a secret, and only released parts of it. They keep saying that no one died in Chengdu [Sichuan's capital] because of collapsed buildings.  There WERE collapsed buildings, I saw them with my own eyes. And there were definitely dead people in them." She saw corpses and everything, I was surprised she could talk to me without crying.

-________- Sigh. Oh China. If they released more info about how much damage they was, wouldn't that only help them get more aid from abroad? I don't understand why everything has to be secret, is pride THAT important? @_@ I'll refrain from ranting here, since it's the Olympics and it's supposed to be a happy day and I'm supposed to be proud. Man, I sound bitter.

Plus, to make things worse, my dad broke the news yesterday that they found a car full of bombs in Chengdu, which thankfully didn't go off anywhere because United States intelligence found out and called the Chinese government. Now, my question was "Why Chengdu?" I thought they'd aim for Beijing, but my Dad said Beijing was too well guarded and Chengdu was the largest city close to Tibet.

;A; NUUUU! LEAVE CHENGDU ALONE. I BASICALLY GREW UP THERE, I LOVE IT JUST AS MUCH AS MY HOME TOWN. ><;; No blowing up NADA anywhere!!!
