I got my official acceptance to the sound recording prereq year today! As soon as I saw it on Minerva, I paid the deposit, took a deep breath, and called my mom to spread the word. Just as Wieslaw said a few weeks ago, the Q-year is tough, but fun, and I know I'm going to have a great year. It's a bit scary, knowing that I've now committed to doing this, for real, and that in four months I'll be shelling out my savings in tuition, but a thrilling kind of scary. And I can't wait.
Yesterday I had an interview at the
Cheers in Faneuil Hall and was hired on the spot to be a hostess 3-4 shifts a week for the summer. So now I have two jobs in the same marketplace, and hopefully that'll help me have money to eat in the fall. Now, onward with learning French so I can get a non-workstudy job! Next year, my outlook on sleep will be that you can do it when you're dead.
It's going to be wierd, going back and not needing to prep for lessons or auditions, not locking myself in a practice room forever, but being locked in Studio B in the middle of the night....
I'm going to have 24-hr access to the music building!
