Chronology issue in Heroes' canon (S1) -- help, anyone?
So, I'm trying to write a new fanfic, but I can't figure out the chronology of November 7th, 2006 in Heroes' canon. What I need to know (with reasonable approximation) is Nathan's and Peter's actions during that last day before the explosion (that I assume to be November 7th, since Hiro travels to November 8th in 1x02 and the newspaper reports the news of the election AND in the last ep the explosion is in the night).
So, here we go:
- in The Hard Part, it is said that "the election is tomorrow", so I assume it's November 6th. It's day and Peter and Claire discuss about Ted Sprague, then confront Nathan about the thing and eventually leave the Petrelli mansion and go to Kirby Plaza, where they meet Bennet, Matt and Ted himself. Nathan talks with them, then meet with Thompson (Peter and Claire see him in Nathan's office), etc etc.
- In Landslide it's still the same day, and the scene with Bennet, Matt, Ted and Peter dealing with his newly burning hands continues from where we left it. So it's still November 6th.
- Still day, Peter and Claire go with Ted and try to leave the city but Sylar calls the police and they catch Ted and get him locked up in the truck. In the meanwhile, Nathan meets with Linderman in his mansion and Linderman heals Heidi's paralysis. Still November 6th.
- D.L. and Jessica track down Nathan in his office. Still day, still November 6th?
- And THEN it's night, Peter and Claire are in a car, Ted dies, Linderman dies, and Nathan becomes a Congressman. When did a whole day pass? And if it did, what did Peter and Claire do in the meanwhile? Where did they sleep? They were together in the car, but I can't believe that it took a whole day for them to go from Kirby Plaza to the place where Ted died.
Solution, maybe?
The only thing I can think of to come out of this loop is that line about the election being "tomorrow" being wrong, so that everything that happened so far really happened on November 7th and not 6th.
Then we have to assume other things, for example that The Hard Part, Landslide and How to stop an exploding man are all in the same day (being it November 6th, 7th or 8th, that's not the point).
AND we have to assume that Nathan gave his speech, had some party, put Heidi and the kids on the first plane and hurried home just to watch himself on tv, all in the same night in which Ted died, Sylar became a nuclear weapon, Mohinder Matt and Bennet played the game of the three guns etc etc etc. All of this is possible and believable, but... God, that's exhausting.
I'm sure there's something I missed. Anyone out there? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
