Criminal Minds Main List Morgan’s eyes snapped open when he felt sloppy kisses being planted all over his
neck. Then he recognised the hideous morning breath, and moved drooling Clooney
away from the bed. He looked around, but there was nobody else. Reid’s side of the
bed was empty.
He pulled on a pair of boxers and walked downstairs. Reid was sitting by the kitchen
table, reading the morning paper and munched a piece of toast.
“Babe, why didn’t you wake me?”
“I thought you wanted to sleep. Day off, you can go back to bed.”
“I don’t wanna go there alone.” Morgan tilted his eyebrows suggestively.
“Take Clooney with you.” Reid kept his eyes on the newspaper.
“He drools.”
“Wipe it off. You did that when I kissed you last week.”
“Because you had a cold! I didn’t wanna get sick too! How long are you gonna stay
mad at me?”
“I’m not mad at you.”
“You’re mad. When you’re mad you always say you’re not mad and you do that
thing with you bottom lip.”
“What thing?”
“You keep chewing it.”
“Chewing it? You make me sound like Clooney.”
“Well, there’s some similarities.”
Reid unfolded the paper and pulled a leash from the kitchen closet. “I’ll take him
for a walk. Or maybe I should put the collar on myself and let him walk me, since
we’re apparently so much alike.”
“Babe!” Morgan exclaimed, but Reid was already on his way out. Clooney followed
him to the doorwith his tail wagging.
“Great, just great.” Morgan grabbed the newspaper from the table and threw it
against the wall. Then he noticed the calendar that was hanging next to the cabinet.
He took it off the hook and tried to remember how it had been a year ago. Then he
remembered.
Morgan dialled Garcia’s number on his cell phone.
“Infinite Fountain Of Wisdom speaking, and why the hell are you calling me so
early on my day off?”
“I need a favour. Are you still in touch with that Salvador Whatever-His-Name-Was?”
“You think any man could forget me?”
“Never, but I need you to dig up his number for me.”
-------------------------------------------------
Reid pulled the door open and picked up Clooney. The muddy dog tried to wiggle it’s
way to freedom, but it didn’t succeed. Reid took him to the bathroom and showered his
paws.
“I know, you probably consider muddy paw prints to be a sign of territorial ownership,
but there’s me and you’re daddy, and we all have to live here.” He dried Clooney’s
paws and lifted him out of the bathtub. “Okay, go find daddy.”
Clooney headed to the empty kitchen. He searched the whole first floor, but Morgan
was nowhere to be found. Reid picked up a note from the table.
I had to run some errands, I’ll be back later.
M.
“Daddy’s gone, it’s just you and me.” Reid slouched down on the couch and leaned
back. “You’ll keep me company, right?”
Clooney jumped on the couch and lied down with his head on Reid’s thigh.
-------------------------------------------------
After five Reid was getting worried. Morgan still hadn’t returned and he had a nasty
feeling something was going on. When the doorbell rang he was almost certain it was
a police, who was there to tell him about a motorcycle accident.A loud noise he heard
before he had even opened the door pushed his worries to the background. It was
Garcia.
“Brainybunny, we’re going right now.”
“Where are we going?”
“To Chuck’s. The whole groups coming, you’re the last one.”
“Have you heard from-”
“My ChocolateShag? Yeah, he’s there too. We were trying to get him so drunk that he
takes his shirt off. You know how he always starts stripping when he’s really drunk?”
“Yes, but why couldn’t he call me about it? Or you, or-”
“CutieShrimp, my cab’s waiting. Get dressed and look pretty.”
-------------------------------------------------
Reid was not the mmost perceptive person when it came to Garcia’s antics. Her usual
level of Weird made sure she could get away with a lot of odd stuff. But when she
guided him to a dark alley he was slightly concerned.
Garcia knocked on the backdoor and a stocky, cheerful man opened. They went in
and the man lead them through some dark hallways.
“What is this place?”
“Salvador`s Salvation. The best Italian restaurant in the county.”
“Why are we here, and why did we use the back door?”
“Because he set up a private room for our purposes.”
Reid gave her a scared look. “Did you read that study they did last year in France?
According to them sexually frustrated people are more likely to descent to highly
violent sex crimes….”
“Are you implying I don’t get any?”
“I’m not implying anything….”
“The Queen of Data Passages gets laid any time she wants. Remember that.”
Garcia stopped on one door and knocked on it. She pulled it open and pushed Reid
inside. Before he could react, she had already locked the door.
The room was small, but comfortably furnished. In the middle of it was a table set
for two. Morgan stood by the table and grinned like a lunatic.
“Like it?”
“You…. You still have you’re shirt on…”
“What?”
“Nothing. What’s going on?”
“Our one year anniversary.”
“That was yesterday.”
“No, your birthday was yesterday. Our anniversary is today. You forgot something.”
“What?”
“I made a move on you when we were in Nevada, but you said you couldn’t start
anything, until you ended your last relationship. We came back the next day, you
broke up with him and we got together.”
“True.” Reid smiled little bit. “Would you have remembered this day if I hadn’t
told you about yesterday?”
“I don’t know. Why?”
“Then we were both half right.”
“Half right?”
“I remembered the first day, but you wouldn’t have remembered the second
one without me.”
“Has anyone ever told you that big brains don’t guarantee logic?”
“No. Are you going to feed me?”
“That’s the plan.” Morgan pulled a chair for him.
“I appreciate the gesture, but I have some reservations concerning retro-cultural
customs that would seem to question my gender.”
“Translation please.”
“I’m not a girl. I can get my own chair.” Reid sat down.
“Hey, I deserve some liberties. This is kinda uncharted territory for me.”
“Italian cuisine?”
“One year anniversaries. This is the first one I’ve had.”
Reid chuckled. “You mean you want to experiment more with them?”
“Maybe this first year things pretty much done after tonight. We could try two years
next.” Morgan’s face turned serious. “Honestly, I’m sorry about your birthday. I
didn’t mean-”
“Don’t do that. I didn’t really care that much about birthdays anyway. We didn’t even
celebrate them when I was a kid. My mom thought there was no point on glorifying a
natural process. And nowadays….. I don’t know. We’re always so busy I hardly even
remember them.”
“Doesn’t mean we can`t celebrate them.”
“I celebrated it. When I went to the store today I bought a new rubber mouse.”
“Rubber mouse?”
“For Clooney.”
“And that’s all you do to celebrate?”
“Like I said, birthdays were never that big of a deal. But….” Reid paused and tapped
the tablecloth with his fingers. “I thought one year was kind of a big thing.”
“It is a big thing! It’s just that I’ve known you so long I have trouble remembering
it was just a year ago.”
“I know what you mean.”
“I took ages before I even saw you naked for the first time.” Morgan grinned.
“The first time you saw me naked was two days after I started in the BAU.”
“Really?”
“My first case. We had to share motel rooms.”
“Okay, I remember now….” Morgan laughed.
“You were out getting food and I was coming out of the shower.”
“That was funny. You jumped up and ran away to get a towel.”
“That wasn’t funny.”
“And that screaming-”
“Morgan.”
“Sorry, I got carried away. But it was a really nice little show.”
“Screaming or nudity?”
“Both. But the nudity part was nice.”
“I was looking for fresh clothes, there was nothing sexually stimulating about that.”
“You were naked and bending over to get stuff from your bag. It was stimulating.
The screaming kinda ruined the effect, though.”
“Can we talk about something else?”
“Sure.”
“And Morgan?”
“Thanks for dinner. Just in case I forget to say it later.”
“Don’t thank me yet. I`ll give you your birthday present when we get home. And an
anniversary present.”
“You didn’t need to do that. But actually…” Reid blush. “I got something for you too.
I was going to give it yesterday, but…. The whole homecoming didn’t turn out the
way I thought.”
“You know what I would like to get as as my anniversary gift?” Morgan smirked.
“What?”
“A re-enactment of that shower episode. Minus the screaming.”
“Do I need to remind you that we slept in different beds that night?”
“Well…. how bout an X-rated version of that?”
Reid took a sip from his glass. “Depends on how good the dinner is.”
