[When the communicator flickers on, it’s clearly been set or thrown down on the floor and it is impossible to see Manfred’s face in the feed. In fact, his voice sounds like it’s coming from a little distance away.]
Crimes are committed here, yet criminals are not apprehended. I know this from experience.
We struggle for survival yet there is nothing to live for. We die, and unwillingly, we are returned to life. For what purpose? None at all! Nothing but suffering; the most basic form of torture.
[A snarl of frustration.]
Trapped, no matter where we turn. Only one possible loophole, yet, to take it would be making a concession that weakens the spirit and also the mind. Would there be satisfaction, in taking the only opportunity presented to us? Or perhaps it is deliberate and only part of the plan? The greatest pain of all! Illusion!

Yet...I have failed.
