This place is in worse condition than when I left it. These buildings are uninhabitable.

[There's a slight pause in which there's nothing but the sound of footsteps and a cane tapping against the ground outside.]

I wonder what wretched forces brought me here to desolation when I was more than ready to face the circumstances back home the way a Von Karma should - proud, upright, perfect in every way until the very end.

[A bitter laugh.]

It's not the same here. There is no death, there are no consequences. The only misery people have to answer to here is that brought about by their own emotions, and those people are, quite simply, weaklings.

I have little tolerance for people. I have even less tolerance for people who are afraid of themselves. People who are afraid of me, however, are simply utilising what little common sense they tend to have.

[A few more footsteps.]

The point is, there is nothing for me here. There is no escape, no death, no reason for moving forward.

...I wish to be home so I can put a proper end to things -- an end that has been fifteen years in the making.
