stars of track and field

WOW, tonight was amazing.

Got up at around 7 to go to work, had a busy morning with lots and lots of kids who i rarely, if ever, have, and spent the morning tending to babies. I really enjoy my job, the more i think about it. it really feels good to be there, if only for the span of a few months, and have a kinda steady income. the best part about it is that i get tips, which if i'm lucky, happens very often. I try hard to make sure i do my best there whether or not it happens, but it's always nice to get the extra reward. my co-workers are really cool too. stepping into the job, i would've thought i'd be more uncomfortable than i am right now, but the flow of the gym is alot nicer than i expected. i like working with my friends, so having liz there is now an even greater comfort. i applied to Halloween USA as supplementary income because having two jobs might suit me for a few months before the holidays so i have money for when they roll around. If i get it, i will be far beyond stoked.

class let out early, so i got out at 4:25, almost an hour early, and the professor was just as eager to leave as we were. I tried to find the bus stop on campus in order to get out of town to the train station, but wound up roaming campus for a good 10 minutes before realizing i had a map i could be using, and then I headed toward the stop that took me in the opposite direction. Somehow, by the grace of His noodly Appendages, I made it to an even better destination, the Hempstead Terminal, where trains leave far more often and with my luck, a few minutes after i had arrived. got on the train, sat next to someone who i THINK was Greg Forester's sister but maybe just had the same hair, mannerisms, and general energy as Greg. Arrived at Penn an hour later than i wanted to/could have,{ had i been paying more attention}, and then got on the F train downtown to go to Madras and meet up with PPK folk. Got there, everyone was talking, and being my socially awkward self, i just kind of sat to myself but it was an enjoyable time. I felt like I was not pressuring myself into anything which was nice, a big step in the right direction for me, who likes to put an ultimatum into everything. met iconic PPK'ers, had SAMOSAS for the first time (OMG OMG OMG!), and then got a cinnabun and soft serve from Atlas. Wound up spending alot less money than i thought i would. I think i deserve a crown or something now.

the train ride home was pretty. it was just cool. for the first time, the subway felt homey. that probably shouldn't feel so domestic for such a grimey place.

got homework to do tomorrow, then maybe doing homework with alex after class, then doing my waitress interview for Soc. hope all is well in the internet world.
