So yeah...the long and short of it is this: Went to Okinawa, had a blast, realized belatedly that my flight would get back to Tokyo too late for me to be able to get back to Nagano, called, like, every hostle and hotel in Tokyo only to find that all rooms were mysteriously booked this weekend...silently fretted a bit then guessed that finding a net cafe and spending the night would be my only option.
So here I am. Not gonna lie, for a time there it was throught sheer force of will that I managed to keep from crying because a) I'm a little sick b)I'm REALLY tired c)I'm all by myself d)there was a solution that I could have used but thought of too late so I was kicking myself a lot e)I didn't actually know where to find a net cafe to begin with and f) even when I got directions, I couldn't find the place! That was me wandering the shreets of shinjuku for almost an hour carrying my stupid heavy crap...and a box of omiyage.
So...anyway, I feel hyper proud, and oddly emotional about the whole thing. It would be cooler if I had a friend here with me, but...I'm a big girl now so...I guess I'll have to keep acting like a grown up, huh? Just wanted to deliver this breaking news and declare this the adventure to end all adventures...not really, but man...'twas interesting. Gotta email my mom and let her know I got in safely...
