I feel like this is a dream/nightmare but I'm too tired to care

Dec 12, 2006 04:44

Today has been extremely surreal. I don't think I've ever had a day to match it. It started out normal enough--I woke up at 6:35, took my exam from 8:30-10:45 and then came back to the apartment. So far normal. EXCEPT that the essay I wrote was by far the most conversational and weird essay I have ever written in my entire life. Probably because that's what you feel like doing the day after seeing the professor who will be reading the exam tipsy on red wine. Okay. Then I decided to take a nap at around 1 PM. Slept until 5:15 PM or so, dreamt of very disturbing/upsetting things partially because the people upstairs were carrying on WWIII in stacked heels or something. Bitches.

I get up and its dark. Nothing too strange about that, but I haven't been awake during most the daylight hours so kind of surreal. I decide to go to Tucker and work with Jessica on our exams, which are basically papers and due tomorrow at 9. My plan is to finish it in that building where the person's office is and by doing so avoid waking up early just to turn it in. But I have the worst luck in the world getting the damn thing STARTED let alone FINISHED. And there are no public printers to even get the thing printed if/when I finished it. I end up going back to the apartment (2:30 AM) where there is no parking. So I park way out in another parking lot on campus and walk home (it's freezing, of course). Get back to the apartment. This is in my inbox:Hello,

See my last entry to get the scoop on THAT one. But wow. I was shocked beyond belief. What a time for that to happen, too.

Anyway I finish the paper. Walk all the way back to the car in the freezing cold so I can drop it off at Tucker, the English Department building. When I go to cross the street the ONLY CAR ON THE ROAD is passing by so I have to actually wait! Then when I am pulling out the only other person on the road passes by and I have to wait again. No big deal but it does seem ridiculous. Drive to campus, everything deserted of course. Go to front door of Tucker. Locked. Swipe my ID card. Doesn't work. Knock on windows, doors, etc. No one. Lights on in several rooms but no response. What is a girl to do?

I got into my car and drove to Dunkin' Donuts, the only place I know is open. Get doughnuts. Where else can I go to pass the time? I don't want to go to sleep only to have to wake up at 8 AM. Sure that would have been the rational thing to do but hey. So I think that maybe CVS pharmacy is open 24 hours and I have a prescription to pick up there anyway. Drive to CVS. Pulled over by a cop car, lights flashing. 4 AM at this point. I was going the speed limit and wasn't drunk, so I wasn't too worried but not sure what was up. "Do you know your headlight is out?" Yes. So that's it? He runs my license just to make sure that I'm not a fugitive or something. Honestly do I LOOK like a fugitive? I have doughnuts on the seat next to me.

But yeah. Make it to CVS which is closed. Of course. Come back to apartment. Find amazing parking space just *waiting for me*. Which brings me here. My plan is to stay awake until 5:30/6 and then go back to Tucker and hope that housekeeping/cleaning staff is there and will let me in. Then I'll come back and sleep. Sounds crazy but that's the way it goes.

So that was my day. Pretty damn stupid really. But anyway.
