So, today on my lunch break, a recruiter came up to me and CJ and started throwing his recruiter sales pitch.

"You could have this meal paid for by the military", and things along those lines...Asking us where we worked and what our goals were.

Shannon: It's perfectly fine that you don't yet know what you want do with your life; You haven't even been out of high school for a year! Take your time, enjoy the lack of responsibilites that come in living at home and having almost no bills, focus on your class at Miami-Dade, figure out the things that inspire, motivate and satisfy you and go from there.

But remember, in your quest for your life's goal, don't focus all your desires on "being happy". Happiness is fleeting and short term, and is defined by circumstances lragely outside of your control. Resolve instead to be a positive person (which you already are!), and things that are lasting. Remember Daddy's explanation on the differences between "Joy" and "Happiness"? I hope so, because he really is right. There is so much more to life than just trying to make yourself happy. (Some of the most miserable people I have ever met in my life are those that choose only to focus on their own happiness. They end up feeling unfufilled and usually lonely, because their quest for happiness has hurt those around them.) Find and then focus on the things that you find fufilling (God, helping others, classes that enjoy that one day may become a career, time spent with family and friends, etc.) and then you will find the joy that you are searching for.

I love you kiddo. Keep your chin up! (And sit down and listen to the Baz Luhrman song "Everybody's Free (to wear sunscreen)". He has some funny (and true!) things to say about people who don't know what to do with their lives.) Hugs!
