In Which I Introduce Myself (More Or Less)

Oct 08, 2017 02:48

I'm still new here and I feel like I should say hello instead of floating about all formless in the shadows. So I hijacked a bunch of get-to-know-me meme things on the internet and threw together a hodgepodge of some of their questions (the most intensely serious and probing ones, as you will see) because I’m not great at talking about myself ( Read more... )

me myself and also me

AS A S'MORE. <3333 That's so adorable. And you know we still want to hear the Lincoln Center story, whether it's "thrilling" or not. ;) Welcome welcome!

For a year or two when we were small, my mother made her children Halloween costumes based on their requests. I apparently wanted to be a s’more. My sister asked to be a marker ( ... )

Ah!!! That's REALLY cool!!! I don't think I know anything at all about the music/theatre scene, but I know enough to KNOW THAT'S COOL. And it's awesome you got to perform with the composers!

And I'm sensing a Newsies theme here. ;)

It was a super cool thing to be able to do, for sure!!

I JUST ENJOY NEWSIES SO MUCH. I've seen the Broadway tour twice, as well. XD It's a pretty chipper show overall, yet somehow it still sometimes makes me cry? To see them dancing?? With such glorious enthusiasm??? :'DDD

Thankee!! Nothing like some generally irrelevant facts to give the internet a vague and scattered picture of myself! :) I AM CONVINCED THAT I WAS THE CUTEST S’MORE WITHIN AT LEAST A FIVE-MILE RADIUS.

We have a fair bit in common, methinks. :D Apart from SPN of course. I've been to three Olympics so far - Barcelona, Sydney and a couple of days in London. Ironically it was harder to get tickets for our home games than it was to travel abroad. Athletics mostly, but also some hockey, volleyball, and paralympic murderball (wheelchair rugby) and goalball. We're thinking about going to Japan in 2020 but might leave it and save our money for Paris in '24 instead.

Do we?? :D DO YOU HATE MELONS IN FRUIT SALAD TOO??? (I love finding commonalities with people, even if-or especially when?-they’re idiosyncratic sort of things.)

Wow, that sounds amazing!!! I don’t have a particular interest in sports or athletic competition, but the Olympics bring something out in me. I get super excited. :D How awesome that you’ve been able to attend actual events!! Volleyball is one of my favourites to watch. And I hadn’t heard of goalball before now? It’s SO STINKIN’ COOL!!!

Para-sport is incredible - the goalball was a really interesting experience because the audience has to stay really quiet while play is in progress because otherwise the players can't hear the ball. Wheelchair rugby is fast, brutal and exciting - oh and I forgot, we saw some wheelchair basketball too! If you ever get a chance to go see one of these, do it.

Actually no, I love melon, in and out of fruit salad, but I do love fruit salad. I'm with you on freckles (though I do have some), dogs and cats and fave seasons... :D

Well, I'll forgive you for the melon thing. ;) I'm always happy when people like both dogs and cats; a lot of people I know seem to be either a "dog person" or "cat person" but I just look at both animals and think, What's not to love??? :D And yes, spring and autumn are the best. I love all seasons, but there's something rich and transformational about those two that speaks to my soul. <3
