Tokyo Tower (2005)

My last night's succumbing to the guilty pleasure *reading* was productive.

I haven't opened the books but eventually surrendered to watching Tokyo Tower.

It is a sad story. Well, both happy and sad. And it made me wonder again why people even bother getting married if it doesn't mean a thing :) I can understand that being 35 + several years of marriage might equal to disappointment, distress and lost dreams syndrome. We are always living in lies, they might be called the masks we wear, or whatever. But we do lie, sadly enough. Lying to yourself, lying to the others, having secret relationships, chickening out instead of facing the music. Is that the truth of marriage? Yes, I'm cynical, I really am but of all I see in real life and fiction, that's the conclusion I get.

I didn't think much of the story even though the acting was good (still nobody beats Nino acting-wise, I loved him dearly in Kiiroi namida). The amount of makeout actually confused me a bit as this was totally unexpected. I mean usually they are more, er, reserved maybe with this kind of material. *cough* I'm not commenting the bathtub scene *cough* Jun was showing the do-S nature. Yep. AWPERVFOIUGIUSRYIU...

My verdict? Very watchable and thought-provoking. Even though it also made me laugh a lot.

So I think I might even rewatch it at some point. Even if just to see this hair once again XD

As I finished watching it at about 3 am, I've been completely Ohno-style blank at work all the day XD People made fun of me non-stop.

"So you won't stay up late tonight Varya, ne?"
