Random + annoying J-drama brats + Azumi (2003)

Feb 06, 2010 20:14

My every morning starts with typing "F*CK" when I enter the Net :) No I'm not angry at the World Wide Web :) I'm just really hooked up on the FUCKYEAHMATSUJUN website :)

I love Saturdays when I can get up whenever I want, staying up late watching movies the day before, and feeling that the whole weekend is ahead :)

Cried my eyes over making cutlets today. Onion is cruel lmfao.

Yesterday I watched Azumi.

I was really looking forward to watching Oguri Shun running around in a very short skirt. What I didn't know is that he only was there for 18 minutes. All the remaining part of the movie, which is 2 hours, I was doomed to be Shun-less.

So! Andie, forgive me for what I'm going to write I know you liked that movie but... :))

Azumi would probably be fun if it wasn't so LOL and so "ehhh?!".

First, I enjoy watching martial arts, as an art, from the aesthetic point of view (e.g. House of the Flying Daggers kind of martial arts). There is something really fascinating in all those movements, hypnotizing, like a sacred dance. I has to be beautiful.

Second, I don't like gore. It's just not my cup of tea. It's one thing when it's a medical drama, quite another when it's tomato/cherry juice all over the place :) So going back to my beautiful fetish... it wasn't pretty. Nope.

Third, I got it, I'm a sucker for romance. I can take it when people kill for love/revenge, I can understand when people kill for defence. What I don't understand is when people kill because they're just told to. It didn't click for me.

Fourth, people you have to be credible :) Ok, keeping using the tomato juice, I don't mind. But don't overdo it. JRR Tolkien once said about the fantasy literature genre that anything can be mocked/ridiculed, anything but the magic that created this fantasy world. In other words, if it's manga-based, not historical, ok, I don't mind it. But it's about finding the golden middle. You don't have to bathe people in tomato juice to show killing scenes :)

And finally, number five. I didn't understand what the whole movie was about :) What this mission was about. They said it, to eliminate the guys who wanted to start the war. But... probably the travelling performer girl was the wisest one out there. "The swords don't suit you, Azumi". You have to understand why you kill, there needs to be something behind it. Otherwise, it is just pointless cruelty.

I never stop watching in the middle, even if I want to. But in fact there was one character that made me want to watch on. Kanbei, the (un)faithful servant of the main bad guy (lazy to look up the name).

I almost screamed YONAMINE! when I saw him :))

Yep, that's him, the (how I now understand is) gorgeous Kitamura Kazuki. LOL if only I knew Yonamine-san's first name was Tsukasa, I'd warm up to him right when watching XD He definitely wasn't my fave character.

Well, as I will mention annoying characters anyway a bit lower on, Azumi also had one I just wanted to kill the minute he appeared :) The weird guy with a rose whose name yet again I am too lazy to look up XD

Hello there, Sailor Moon!

Funnily enough, the final battle scene between the Weird Guy and Azumi was the one I loved best.

My kind of beautiful. Almost. The last shot of the battle spoiled it all XD

So the movie gets 5/10 from me.

3 - to Kanbei
1 - to Nachi/Shunkerbell's short skirt
1 - to Azumi's katana :)

And now to annoying J-drama brats :)

I noticed that almost in every drama/movie there is one character I want to strangle :)

Hanadan, season 1

Sakurako: the two-faced, porcelain-doll-eyed, cruel thing

Hanadan, season 2

Shigeru: the annoyingly hyper girl with a kind heart who only stopped annoying me when the season was over :)

Kimi wa petto

Fukushima: Incredibly nasty annoying stupid little brat

Hana Kimi

Oscar: No comments. Annoying and making me itch. Full stop. LOL.

Bambino!

Yonamine-san: He really annoyed me while watching for totally checking out Bambino in all the senses of the word XD

But oh well... I warmed up to him. Yeah, I did. After all, can you wink with both eyes, like he does it? CAN YOU?! XD

That's about it. Random is random :)
