Anyone that saw the white-haired boy, would probably think he was going off to a war. His facial expression made it obvious he was feeling a mix between heartbreak and sadness. Who could blame him? Between being stuck in this town and thinking that Lavi did not need Allen, the boy was far from being happy. That was not to say that he felt he was worse off than anybody here. Honestly, the exorcist was doing his best to focus less on himself. Really, he was; however, part of him still wanted to give up on helping ( ... )

Lavi heard a stack of books clash to the floor as well as a flutter of papers and a cloud of dust followed by a sneeze. His green eye drifted lazily over to the source of the sound. He figured, at first, that it was just one of the librarians. It happened every once in a while.

"Hey, are you al-" he stopped in mid-question when he saw the white haired exorcist. His eye widened and he stood up quickly. "Allen?" he said a little breathlessly. He was pretty sure the shorter boy was done with him completely.

He took a step towards him and his heart beat a little strangely for a moment. He stopped a few feet in front of him and looked at him sadly. "I'm surprised you actually want to see me" he said, his lips turning into a smile, though his eyes were still sad.

He simply stood in place as Lavi stepped towards him. Looking downward at the words, Allen gave a sigh. He closed his eyes for a moment, before opening them again and looking back at the red head. Allen then remembered why he came here, in the first place. His expression turned more serious, though the hint of sadness and worry remained there in his eyes. It was obviously taking everything Allen had just to stand there and look fine.

"I came to make sure you weren't really giving up."

Allen knew he had no right to judge anybody for wanting to give up. He did not think Lavi was an idiot for wanting to give up. He simply... did not want him to give up.

He looked at the other for a moment before averting his eye. "I don't know anymore. I don't feel like trying anymore" he shrugged. He didn't want to give up, he really didn't, but his spirits were shattered. He honestly couldn't think of anything anymore and he was tired. He really was.

He knew Allen's goal was to save everyone. His drive was so strong to help people that Lavi envied him for that, slightly. But he could even see that the determined boy was starting to waver. He had never heard him ever say that he wanted to give up, but that post on the device...

This place, this god forsaken place was running everyone down to their core. Maybe he was next to go insane. To remain lifeless here in this library surrounded by the dusty books cut off from the rest of this world.

Sighing softly, Allen gave a nod to Lavi's words. That was a much better response than he had expected. A slightly relieved expression appeared on the boy's face.

"I think it's alright to feel that way, sometimes. I'm sure everyone feels like this, at some point. ... Besides, look at where we are. M-maybe if we stop focusing on what we can't do, that... will help."

Closing his eyes and scratching the back of his head, Allen let yet another sigh escape his lips.

"Maybe we should just focus on what we can do..."

Lavi stepped closer to him until he was able to put his hands on Allen's shoulders. That strong will of his, it attracted him so well. He gave the younger boy a lighter smile, even though, it was still slightly sad.

"We've all....we've all been tryin' on our own, yeah? You're right, I should trust in you more. It's not that I didn't it's just..I dunno. We should work together from now on." he said nodding. "I'm missin' a hammer, though. Wanna help me try to get it back?" he said letting out a light chuckle afterwards.

It felt as though heavy weights had been lifted from his shoulders and chest. Hearing the words spoken by the other, sent an instant smile to his face, brightening his features. A very soft, relieved, laugh escaped him.

"Thank you, ... Lavi."

Lavi gathered Allen up into his arms and gave him a squeeze. "I should be thanking you. If you hadn't come by, I'd probably still be sitting in that chair, not moving at all" he said softly.

He clung to the other tightly. He hadn't held him like this in a long while. Not since they had that first fight. "So what are we going to do about Yuu, hm?"

The exorcist boy widened his eyes a little as he was pulled into an embrace. The surprised facial expression did not last long, however. It soon relaxed into a smile, as Allen wrapped his arms around the other. Holding onto Lavi, gently, he smiled and rested his forehead against the red head's chest. He had missed this.

Too bad it was not going to last long.

As soon as he started to answer, Allen suddenly realized he felt... strange. An awkward tingling sensation filled his body. Widening his eyes, he quickly shoved Lavi back just a little. Looking down at his hands, he was suddenly reminded of the time he was attacked by that akuma. His body had started to fade back then, as well. Back then was a different scenario, though. This time, it was because...

Was he really about to be sent back home?

It was a strange feeling to know something without really knowing how it's known, or why it's known ( ... )

Lavi was taken aback when he was shoved all of a sudden. He blinked confusedly at the other exorcist wondering what was wrong. He looked carefully as Allen became more and more transparent.

What was....he wasn't going...back..was he? Not without him. His green eye widened with a look of horror and realization. He was going back, right here, right now.

When Allen kissed him for that last time, he tried to wrap his arms around him to keep him from going, but it was too late. His arms went right through him, into the air and all that was left was the echo of his voice in his ears. "I'll be back. I promise"

The red-head was silent. Replaying those phrases in his head over and over again and he slumped to the floor, eyes widened. He shut his eyes tightly trying to keep the river of tear that threatened to stream from his face at bay. He pounded the floor with his fist and cursed. This wasn't fair.
