We finally put our Bowflex together! WOOT! The basement now how my faithful treadmill and a big ass exercise machine. I'm really looking forward to getting back to weight training. I enjoy free weights a bit more than machines but we didn't have enough space for all the free weight stations I would want.
Since March, I've lost 18 pounds. Howard has lost about 25 pounds. It hasn't been hard but I think that's because I'm not rushing. I have a goal in mind and I will get there when I get there. It isn't necessary for me to lose a certain amount of weight a week, as long as I'm losing a little and not gaining I'm happy. Since the whole family is involved in changing how we eat, it's been pretty easy. We are not dieting and that helps too. What we have done is switch from higher fat to lower fat food options and making healthier choices. Salad reigns supreme in this house now. No food is completely off limits. If any of us wants a treat, like ice cream, we have it, but in moderation. And for me, knowing I can have the chocolate makes me want it less.
I know people have strong feelings about weight loss and that's why I rarely post about my progress. I know I feel better now than I did in March. I know I've stopped wheezing and my knees are giving me significantly less trouble since I've started losing the weight. I'm happy with that. I do want to lose more because my doctor feel being under 140 is best for my knees but I'm not stressing it. I'll get there when i get there. The important thing is I'm eating better and exercising more.
