UP and why the Colhoun women won't see it again.

Yesterday, Bree, Howard, Harry and I took Bree out to dinner and a movie to celebrate her most excellent report card. We went to see UP. UP is a beautifully animated, well voiced, imaginative movie that I never want to see again. It is a very good movie with way too many triggers for the Colhoun women. Bree said it was harsh, Howard described part of it as rough, I found the plot to be quite dark in spots and Harry looked like he had been slapped when he left the theater. It's a great movie but the trailer, which was pretty light, does not prepare the movie goer for some very difficult and adult plot concepts. I won't spoil the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it but there were some scenes that, for a very emotional and sentimental person like myself, were incredibly hard to watch. Bree and I cried through large parts of it. PIXAR did a great job, as usual, and kids will have a great time watching it but it's not, in my opinion, a kids movie. It's much too harsh. Little kids will not get some of the plot themes but older children, especially ones who have lost someone, may find it upsetting.
