Growing up, my family spent a lot of summers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire because my dad's army buddy lived in Mass. I grew up knowing him and his wife as Uncle Russ and Aunt Loretta and hung out with their kids. My love of motorcycles comes from getting my first ride at the age of 6 on the back of one of their bikes. Uncle Russ's hobby was restoring old Fords from the 30's and 40's. In the summer we'd go to their trailer home in New Hampshire and spend a week swimming and boating. Aunt Loretta always hoped I'd marry DR, her son closest to my age and for a while, I hoped so too. He was one of my earliest crushes and a good friend. Mom called me in tears yesterday because after a long illness, Uncle Russ passed away yesterday. Nobody is ever going to refer to me as a Turkey Broad again and I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't miss it. He was one of a kind. Rest in peace Russ.
