Screenplays versus books: A short rant
First let me say it is possible to make a good movie from a good book without changing much of the plot. For reference, please see "Shawshank Redemption". But I just finished watching "Silver Linings Playbook" because I liked the book. Now I did like the movie but as an adaption of the book with the same name, not so much. No spoilers here but way too many details were changed, some of them necessary and pivotal. When you lose the original intent and feeling of the book, then it's not really an adaptation anymore, now is it? Feh.
