Kitty update: Not good news
Bobby tested negative for FIV and F-Luk but his kidney and liver functions were way off. The vet bathed him, deflead him and made him comfortable. He was alert when we picked him up this afternoon but declined rapidly and died about a half hour ago. I wish I had found him a couple of days earlier but I didn't. The vet and I did our very best but his injuries and physical state were just too severe. He had cuts on his legs, pads missing on his feet and only weighed 4 pounds. He died warm and safe and cared for. I'll have to console myself with that.
