So three weeks late but here goes!
Berlin was fantastic, tis a bootiful city. Got there no probs even if the flight was a bit bit turbulant! Got to the hostel (Green Eggs & Ham) it was lovely, three beds for Marth, Mum and me! Was also very quiet and in a pretty good location in Mitte so very central. Went for a general wander about, discovered most shops were open until eight so got to browse a few places. Went on a hunt for a place that sold proper German food, found a place called Kayser Sose (haha). I had Kasespaetzle mit Schinken, possibly one of the best meals I have ever had, must learn how to make it! Had some wine there and at the hostel and got some nibbles to have whilst planning where to go.
Went and had a look at all the sights the next day. Went to see the parliament building the Brandenburg Gate and the Jewish memorial which was really good, was a giant set of grey stones set out in a massive grid that you could walk between, was a very odd experience. Went to look at some shops, I had to buy a skirt as my zip decided now was the time to break haha! Got bratwurst and continued the epic trek around the city. Found lots of cool vintage shops and found a cheap CD shop and got 4 CDs for cheapness! Got more German food, cabbage, meat, that sort of thing. Tis hard remembering details now (hense the reason I have to write everything down!!).
Next day we went to the museum bit, Mum and I went to a museum and Marf did some sketching outside. The museum had some good ancient stuff from all over the place and an Egyptian exhibition with the bust of Nefartiti :D Lots of mummies and such things which kept me happy! Found Martha again and went for a wander to see the Bauhaus archive, some stuff was OK but then had a bizarre lunch of mozerella, tomatoes, bread and olive oil, all raw, oddly nice! Went to the Brandenburg gateagain (seriously we must have walked/got the tram/got the train/got the bus MILES) and met up with Martha's friend Pete (the model) and then his identical twin! We raced them by train (they were on bikes) to what is left of the Berlin wall, we lost! there was quite a lot left and the graffitti was interesting. Looped round through a massive park and went for a drink with them both, Mum seemed very amused by 'twins'!! Wandered around for a bit, so hard to find public loos in that city, had some cake in a cafe. Marf got some exciting shorts! Went back to the parliament building and went up into its spiral glass roof for a view of Berlin by night. Later for dinner we found a place that sold Kasespaetzle (yum yum).
Next day went on a mission back to a shop that sold these cool paper lanterns and got one when they finally opened! Marf looked for boots but no joy, Mum got some nice German crimbo stuff. Bit of hassle as the trains were on strike but got to the airport in time, alas the flight was delayed an hour and a half but got home and Dad had made us Shepherds Pie with welcome home (in German) written in teh mash!!
No rest time, picked up Neil and headed to Manchester to see Diamanthain, Baalphegor, Nailed and missed Dilacerate. Saw Lisa, Charlie, Chops and Hannah which was a bonus. The Dry Bar was the hottest place in the world! Very tired, took Scott home too and got lots of sleep. Saturday was going to be a resting day but van problems led to me driving Scott and two of the Baalphegor lads to Birmingham, Miguel and Xesc who were both really nice but mainly slept a lot! Got to the Bristol Pear, hung around and chatted with peaople and went for food during the soundcheck. Gig went well, got to see Acral Necrosis who had a bad sound but sounded good and Machivellian too. Baalphegor are fantastic (tech death but not too techy for me), got the album and Xesc gave me Baalphegor knickers!!!
And yes on Sunday I did it all again and went to the Liverpool gig, took Chris too and dropped Marf and John at the pictures. Another good gig :)
Back to work the next day, good to go back to have a rest!!! I'm sure I did fun stuff/lazed arund a lot. Started feeling ill last weekend, still managed to drag Scott and myself to Alton Towers, went on all the big rides, thought were were going to be trapped on Air as it wouldn't release us!! Laughed at the 'Terror of the Towers' with its 'scary' actors in it haha! Flu tablets go tme through the day. I lost the Ghost Train lazer shooting this time! Rita was a bit mental but not as scary as being in the car with my Dad, the Pinball Whizzer was mad but should have really tied our hair back!!.
Was ill all last week, went to see Black Sheep with Die, was OK, should have been funnier. Went to see Everton vs Larissa at Goodisen, was a fantastic match and I feel the need to make it a more regular occurance! Went to Scott's on Saturday and was ill there instead, felt better on Saturday and could drink again! Watched Meet the Fockers and relaxed.
Last night went to Manchester with Scott and Neil and saw Crepitation, Ingested, Saitorium and Defeated Sanity. Was a bit wasted on me not being the biggest fan of all that but had a good night anyway! Saw quite a few people out and managed to be home at a reasonable-ish time!
Been Kira's this eve, and now all I have to do is sort my costume out for tomorrow eve's venture into Chester, Boot/Metal Pig or summit like that with Marf, Chris and possibly Die.
Thank fook I''ve finished that!!! I ain't spell checking it now!!!
