For those who haven't been, FilkONtario has a Penguin Song Contest. There's a list of words (one of which is always penguin) given out at-con, and the song has to be written at the convention. The song has to have at least 3 versus and a chorus, and it has to have some rhyme in it. Verses need to be 4 - 6 lines each ( Read more... )

This past weekend I was up in Mississauga,ON for FilkONtario 23. I knew I had to come, since Tim & Annie were the Guests of Honour and it's been FAR too long since I've seen them. Due to circumstances, I'm in need of a new roommate (or roommates) for FKO. Since I'll be in Toronto on business anyway, I'll likely arrive at the hotel early (possibly even on Thursday evening; I haven't decided) and won't be leaving until Monday sometime. I see that the FKO theme song contest is songs based on Tolkien, which has been much of this past year's filk output.
