Monty Python's final night at the O2 was amazing. All of the surviving Pythons, plus
Carol Cleveland, still a knockout at 72. There were plenty of
Terry Gilliam animations, lots of singing and dancing numbers (since
John Cleese isn't physically capable anymore, that's how they worked in the
silly walk).
All the classics!
The Dead Parrot (segueing into
the Cheese Shop),
the Four Yorkshiremen. I probably knew the words as well as the Pythons did (and sure, there were some screwups, but it's live performance. You expect that. But
NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!).
Guest appearances by Mike Meyers and Stephen Hawking. The Philosophers Song. And an amazing finale with the entire arena singing along with "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"
The full set of pictures, less whatever I eventually pull off my phone, is
on Flickr.
