Bubble, bubble
So we (the lab techs) are getting more bench space at work! This is like the equivalent of getting a nicer desk/cubicle, but with the added bonus of less likelihood of chemicals dropping on your head as you crouch under working scientists to access your R&D inventory. It's basically like science Christmas, and the techs in my department all regard it as such--we are happily anticipating the increase in workspace, cleaning out our old inventories to get ready for the move to the new, and squabbling with other teams about what space belongs to who (the other teams want to keep their territory, and we maintain that they haven't been using those benches for at least 6 months).
This was how I ended up pouring vials of deep red, viscous liquid into our waste bin today. It was old photoresist, long expired.
I totally wasn't pretending it was the blood of virgins.
