I don't have any.
That is to say, I don't have any when it comes to finishing projects before starting new ones. Then I end up with a whole back-log of things I want to do that becomes an intimidating mountain of tasks that I should do and it stresses me out so I run away to something more relaxing which in turn becomes another chore on the pile ( Read more... )

I'm sure you've heard of National Novel Writing Month which happens every year in October. It is the challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in 31 days. I have recently challenged myself and my daughter's friends to try this, only we decided to do it now instead of waiting for October. Cassie has several stories she's been talking about. Okay. I feel better. I got a new scene done and improved a couple of others. It wasn't so painful after all.

How do you stay focused on writing a story when the subject matter has you squirming in your seat? A friend once complimented that I never backed down or ran away when things got rough for my characters, but this story about Ann has made we want to run away from the keyboard more often than not.
