HFS and My Maniac MONDAY

May 24, 2004 22:12

So on Saturday I went to HFStival with Matt, Dave and Eli. Once we got to RFK Stadium along with like 30,000 other teenagers who took the metro Matt decided to pick up his ticket. So we went to go buy hotdogs from the street vendors while we waited. That wasn't a good idea. Since I hadn't had breakfast I bought a jumbo hotdog. It was all pink and white and limp. "Hey Dave, these hot dogs are amazing!" He quickly bought one so we could increase our odds of one of us dying. That way we could sue the shit out of the hot dog lady and become millionaires. Anyway after eating we ventured into the stadium. After spending 30 minutes finding Matt we walked onto the field. It was really hot outside but Yellowcard was playing and we could already see people crowdsurfing. Yellowcard was really neat, one guy in their band plays the violin. I made a mental note to start my own band, Jasoncard, in college. After a while Yellowcard ended and we went to go buy 4$ bottle of waters. 4 dollars! Their water cost just as much as beer! Then we went down to the field to see the Lost Prophets play. Soon Mike Conlon and Pat McGraw emerged. They were muddy and looked really wasted. Later I found out they had been in the mosh pits.

The mosh pits were insane! I never imagined them to be like that. Basically they were big circles of people who just ran into each other and beat each other up. I spent most of the day trying to stay away from them. However in Papa Roach we went up to the very front of the stage. The mosh pits were insane!! Poor Eli got caught in one and was getting the crap beaten out of him. Matt and Dave looked really scared so they pushed their way out to the back of the crowd to get away from the Mosh Pits. I didn't really feel like pushing 250 pound men of off Eli so I followed them away.

Eventually we ran into the other franklin farm kids. Calvin, Paul, Scott, David, Kellen, Pat, Mike and Tim were there. Together we tried to stay out of the mosh pits. However soon Scott, Pat and Tim got in one so I jumped in to hit Scott as many times as I could. That felt good and soon the song ended so I didn't get hit at all.

POD played, they kinda sucked. New Found Glory was really good though. Matt lost his hat when some big guys threw him up to go crowd surfing. Calvin also went flying when people threw him up to crowd surf. I hated the fat crowd surfers because they always fell on top of me. One time this girl crowd surfed and she was wearing a loose bikini and my hand went right in the bottom of her bikini (it was an accident)!!! So yeah it was quite fun, Mallary randomly showed up next to us, went crowdsurfing and I never saw her again.

Finally after 7 hours of being torched under the sun, JAY Z arrived. He brought with him my favorite football player, Lavar Arrington! He danced on stage and smiled at me. Jay Z was pretty good, but as soon as it got dark, Offspring came out. They were SO amazing! We had amazing spots right in front of the stage. Unfortunatly it was insanely crowded and I was completely soaked with the sweat of other people. But it was all good. Soon Offspring finished and half of the 60,000 people left because the last band, The Cure, sucks. The line to the metro was really long but we finally made it home. I counted my money and felt sad. I had spent 19$ on 3 drinks and 3 disease filled hotdogs. The rest of the time at the concert we had drinken the dirty hose water they had near the stage. I drank it anyway despite the lead and grass and dirt that I saw in the water. Dave also tried to sneak backstage to chill with Jay Z and Lavar Arrington but it failed horribly because they just sent him to medical care instead. My plan of pretending to be Rod Gardner (another redskins's) cousin didn't work either so we didn't get back stage.

So this morning I woke up and felt horrible from the sun/hotdogs/water. So I fell asleep and awoke at 2:05, right when school was ending. Then I took a nap from 5-8. I still feel tired. What a crazy monday!
