When Angel suggested that they wait a while before telling her parents, Fred nodded, knowing that was probably a good idea. She knew they liked Angel quite a lot, but it would be best if they understood better what was going on before she told him she was pregnant with a vampire's baby. And besides, they had several months - they didn't have to do everything right then ( ... )

Angel gave all of them a sheepish look as he sat Fred down to the ground. He was just trying to be careful. He didn't want anything to happen to the women he loved. Angel knew he would protect Fred and this child with his undead life. No one was ever going to hurt them ( ... )

"You really do think the calendar might be linked?" Fred said, putting her hand over her stomach, reminding herself what Wesley had said - that it hadn't said anything about good or evil, just that something was coming. She couldn't let this freak her out. Angel had said their child was human with a soul. That was a good thing. That meant this was a good thing ( ... )

Angel watched Giles and Wes walk out of the hotel before he turned around, seeing Fred was standing right there. He smiled when she placed his hand over their growing child. He then wrapped his free arm around her body and pulled her closer.

"It's good, Fred. We're doing something good here or the Powers would've stopped it. They did help me find you in Pylea and they helped us in Romania. It's a good thing. I promise."

Reaching down, he tucked his fingers on her chin and tilted her head up so he could look into her eyes. He ran his thumb over her lips and smiled. "Is there anything you need?" he softly asked, wanting to put her needs first and foremost. "Something to eat? Have you ate yet?"

In the middle of all the excitement, he had forgotten to see if she'd ate yet. "I can get you something from the kitchen or would you rather just rest?" He'd never gotten anyone pregnant before so he didn't know if he was doing anything right.

"I didn't think you were going to go asking Wesley about whether we could make love together a few hours after we found out we're going to have a baby!" Fred said, trying not to laugh. "Besides, I don't think it matter because he already knows what we do. Kinda hard to deny it, all things considered ( ... )

Angel was pretty sure they needed a new mattress. The one on the bed was from when they'd moved in. He was pretty sure you were to change your mattress every year. Plus, he wanted a comfortable one for Fred to be on. He was pretty sure being pregnant was going to be painful for her so at least the mattress could be nice.

He would also have to look into get more comfortable chairs for the office. Also, Angel knew he should get the elevator fixed so Fred wouldn't have to walk up and down the stairs. He'd have to make a list but first...

"Okay," he said as he kicked off his shoes and slipped into the bed with her. He carefully gathered her in his arms and just held her, his fingers running through her hair. "This is nice."

He held her tighter and softly kissed the top of her head. "I love you so much, Fred. You've given me so much in the last few months and I don't know how I can ever repay you," he whispered.

Fred shifted as Angel got into bed with her, pulling her into his arms. She rested her head against him and closed her eyes, letting the steady stroking of his fingers in her hair relax her.

"This is," she agreed in a soft murmur before letting out a deep sigh of contentment. Part of her would have been happy never to move from this position again, but she knew that was impossible. It was wonderful to just enjoy the moment, though. She always felt safe and complete in Angel's arms, something she knew would never change.

"I love you too, Angel," she told him, smiling against his chest. "And you don't have to because you've given me just as much."

Raising her head, she looked into his eyes, reaching up to run her hand over his temple, smoothing over his brow. "You saved from the monsters, and you helped me adapt to being back. I think we were meant to be there for each other. You're my handsome man, and I won't want anyone else. Ever."
