Random Thought #9
I've been holding off on updating my journal until all of the "existing" events have passed this month.
Here's a play-by-play of what's been goin' down since the last update (6/10/04):
- I started the new job a couple of weeks ago, and I'm liking it alot. It's taken me some time to get back into the zone with coding, but I think it's all coming back to me now. It's nice being able to just listen to music all day (without phone interruptions) and bang out a project.
- On 6/19, we went to Michigan's Adventure for a work-related picnic. It definately pales in comparison to its big brother, Cedar Point, but it's not too bad for what and where it is (except for the goddammed jingle, which is played quite loudly everywhere you go!) We bot got not-so-great sunburns, even though it was frikken freezing that day!
- This same morning, my friend from Germany and I exchanged some very early morning phone calls, which was initiated by your's truly. When I got his voicemail at 10pm EST, I was a bit excite and I kinda forgot that it was 4 am there! He then returned the favor by calling me at 6am the following morning. He's such a dork... ;)
- This past Wednesday we both got new cellphones. It's quite a difference going from a green and black screen to 2 full color screens. Not to mention the built-in camera and ability to download polyphonic ring tones! My phone even takes 15 secs of video, which is rockingly cool.
- This past Saturday I skated in a competition. I did quite well: landed all of my jumps (incl. the evil lutz!), but had a few bobbles on some spins. I ended up with the bronze medal, though most people say I should have gotten the silver medal. Oh well, I'm just happy to have gotten on the podium! Shortly after competing, I took my Pre-Bronze FS and MIF tests, which I passed (not sure HOW, since I fell on BOTH tests! :\) Afterwards, my entire flight went out for dinner and we made plans to hang out at the FS session next Saturday :)
- Last night, we went to the sneak preview of Spiderman 2, which was quite a good movie! :D
This coming weekend, we're hosting our annual 4th of July party on the 3rd of July, since the 4th is on Sunday. I still have to go out and buy the foods for the grillin' and I really hope it doesn't rain that day!
