Applying My Ambition

Aug 17, 2010 10:41

Growing up, I always thought about being ambitious and influential in either the corporate, religious, or musical senses. These days when I think about being ambitious I automatically think about securing a high-paying, powerful job in corporate America.

There is just one problem: the more powerful one is in corporate America, the more job responsibility one has, and the less time and energy one has to live their own life by their own rules. I like being done with work for the week at the 40-hour mark.

How and where, then, do I apply my ambition and still maintain my ability to live my life, rather than making the job my life?
