what a weekend, so much fun!
Got Starstruck meeting Chuck D (he signed some copies of the Public Enemy comic book, in which the members of Public Enemy are freedom-fighting ninjas, and the enemies are all white "the man" types, which I think is hilarious).
Gary Coleman was there, too. He was charging $5 bucks to take a picture with him, and when I tried to take pics of him from afar someone kept stepping in the way, so all I kept getting were blurry images without him in them. I was convinced he was a vampire, until i finally got one.
I also bought an old Pulp magazine from the 50's, little did I know it was the same one used in Back to the Future part one, the one the Dad (Crispin Glover) was reading and Marty emulated with his Spaceman suit and rock guit- oh you know, the ...stuff. Anyways, I now wish I'd bought more of 'em, cause the inside stories and illustrations are really damn funny
Tons and tons of people in Comic Book and Star Wars costumes, and many people wearing tight costumes that perhaps should not have been wearing tight costumes
And we got to catch the Venture Bros. meeting, with the writers and voice actors, they did a Q&A thing for about an hour that was one of the funniest thinsg I'd ever seen, especially when this 11 year-old boy walked up to the mic and asked them if Testicular Torsion was really something he was gonna have to be careful about, and whether that website they put up about it was for real. That moment, and the crowds reaction, I hope, is gonna be in the DVD extras when it comes out
