You look so beautiful, I wonder what you dream...

My hell week is officially over, being that it is Saturday night, and I just got home from work, and early at that. It is a beautiful pre-spring eve, and I'm set to do something tonight, even though I'm sick. Ahhh, skirts really make me feel springy. Okay, recap of things past...

Hell week was hellish. That's all I can say. Besides being asked on a date by Joe (haha), I had a Quantitative Reasoning midterm, Paine paper, Election Interview paper, Muckraking paper, Working Class Quiz and Reporting Quiz. Damn. Needless to say, after budgeting my time wisely and eating wayyyy too many thin mints, I accomplished everything on time. I don't even care what kind of grades I get on them, because hey, out of sight, out of mind, right? Right.

Last Friday, Val and I trekked into NJ to see the Early November with Socratic, Foster, Halifax and Hidden In Plain View. I got out of work, picked up Val and headed into my enemy state with no problems. We got to Krome, met up with Dorrie, Stacey and Vicki and just chilled. Socratic were cool from what we saw, and Foster were surprisingly good. I loved Halifax, and they sounded really tight. Us girls stayed in the lobby for most of these bands just chatting to people and being funsters. Val, Vicki and I drank like 10 Red Bulls each, and were bouncing off the walls like crazy. (Thanks, Krome, I am now addicted to Red Bull.) Hidden In Plain View then went on, and we all went inside to catch that because they are some crazy kids, and they get more intense and entertaining every time I see them. Stace and I danced to our song, "20 Below" and it was wonderful. Haha. After that, we pushed ourselves to the front for E11 and eventually, Val and I decided on an up-front spot on the left side. They played almost everything off of The Room's Too Cold some stuff from the For All Of This EP and some rarities. I must say, while they have over the past year become one of my favorite bands, for reasons other than stage-show, this performance blew me away. Gone is the band that focused more on presence than musicianship because I have never seen a more electric show than that. Serg knocked his tooth out, (serves him right, ha!), Ace was a doll and Jeff and Joe were funny as ever. Wow, kudos to E11 for becoming greats. Thank God the March roadtrip for them is in the works. Red Bull in tow, watch out Hammonton!

Let's see...on Saturday I worked all day and Ali, Jolene and I decided we were gonna go out recruiting afterwards to get more guys at Abercrombie. It's a freakin' chick party, I swear. So, after a game of telephone, I met Ali and Jolene at Monterey's and later on we met up with Laurie, Mike, Adam, Danielle, and Phil. Monterey's was looking pretty dull, so Ali, Jo and I flocked to McHebes a mile away where it was insane. We cut the line, danced and partied all night. Fun times. I got home at 4, had work at 10. Grrrrrrreat.

Last night was a great time as well. I met the CT kids (Dor, Stace and Vicki) in Milford and we went to IHOP, vegged out, hung out with Jeff and horny sick Joe and eventually made it to the show in Wallingford. Will's band, Your Day Strong was playing with The Goodwill,Grover Dill,Hidden In Plain View and some others whose names I can't recall. Will's band rocked out like no other and it was so cool to hear tons of kids after their performance saying "Wow, they were so good" and "I'm gonna go get that CD right now." I don't know, it was just awesome to see that even these younger kids recognized that they put on a bar-setting show. So, The Goodwill performed shortly after and naturally, being from Long Island, they owned CT. Grover Dill has never been one of my favorite bands to see live, being the last time, they were disgusting pigs of human beings, but they got better as well. The last band to perform were my lovelies Hidden In Plain View, and us girls secured a spot technically "on the stage" with all the photographers and were cool. Of course, my camera was heinous and I only got a few decent shots, but their set was perfect. They even played "Milligrams for Migraines," which excited me greatly. As always, they ended with "20 Below" and again, Stace and I were happy bunnies, as were the rest of the kids in this place, because everyone started slam dancing and crowd surfing and the stage was no more because everyone was crowded together. It was hilarious. Afterwards, we were all going to go to the Grover Dill afterparty, but Dor and I had work today and I had nice long drive home, so we decided to skip it. We said goodbye to all the bands and cute merchguys and the darling VFW in Wallingford, CT. I got home by 3, and had work at 9. Yay.

Okay, so this entry had almost made me forget about being sick. But now, my nose is running, and I need some Dimetap yet again. My health was nice while it lasted.
