Wowser! I haven't updated in what seems like forever! Sorry about that, Chief. I have been keeping busy! This entry will just cover homecoming week...
It was great! Monday I went to "Meet the Players." It was kind of random.
Then, on Tuesday, there was "Autumnfest" where Jordan, Smalls, Bly, Abbi, and I hung out, roasted marshmallows, and carved a pumpkin. It was fun!
On Wednesday, there was Spirit Chapel, where Leslie Hall did a great job on the song/dance we had. Landen did well too, with a customized randition of a Sister Act song (they got 2nd place). (We don't recognize the fact that the Woody-Gott cult even placed.) That evening there was a Shawn McDonald concert. Char, Char's man, Smalls, Bly, Lance, and I all hung out. It was a good concert...good times, good times.
Thursday night there was the Talent Show, where Char and I hung out with Bly and a good part of the rest of the Cross Country team. The show was extremely entertaining, and the winning entry was a guy that could yo-yo like you have never seen. After the concert, Smalls, Jordan, Abbi, Bly, Farkas, Stump, and I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark downstairs in the Lobby. Fun!
Then, on Friday TONS of stuff happened! In the afternoon there was the Bed Races, in which Char rode the bed and I helped run. Leslie got 2nd place in the girls division (not bad!). After that there was dinner in the Sports Cafe. Then, that evening there was the presentation of the court; which I attended with Abbi. Smalls was beautiful and Jordan did a good job being her escort. After the presentation of the court there was a praise time in the auditorium, and the Allen Lorton Band performed. I love those guys! They did a very good job. Right after that praise time there was a night parade in which the dorms walk in the parade together, led by a person carrying a torch. It just so happened that I got to carry the torch for our dorm! Yay! The parade ended up at a bonfire (which was pretty hot!).
That next morning was the Homecoming parade. Leslie's float was pretty good, Landen's was great, and Smalls did a great job waving to the crowd and throwing candy. I watched it with Jordan and Abbi. They were both competitive candy-getters...it was pretty funny. That afternoon was the football game. Abbi and I went together and Jordan hung with us for a bit. Smalls and her dad did well walking and being presented during halftime. After that, Abbi and I went and sat with Lance and Bly. Steph eventually came and sat with us too. We had a grand 'ol time dancing to the pep band and cheering for the team. And believe it or not, we won the football game!!!!!!!!!! Bly predicted that in the end it would be a tie, and that almost happened, but the other team lost the 2 point conversion. Whew! But it was a good game and WE WON! That evening, Small's parents took Smalls, Char, Abbi and I out to a great restaurant right outside of town. Yay for real food! After that, Smalls and I took Char to the ER. Nothing huge, she's fine. We had a few laughs while we were there though.
And that was Homecoming Week!
Here is Char and I getting pumped for the Bed Races!
And here we are taking off!
And here are the Leslie Ladies in the Parade!
Later!
