Reporters, photographers and a crowd were already present as Lucius, Narcissa and Draco arrived. They ascended the steps of the Ministry amidst several flashes.
Lucius stopped and looked down. More people gathered as passers by began to pay attention, and employees saw the opportunity to escape a further few minutes of work.
He waited a few moments before beginning his announcement.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for attending.
At this very moment we stand on the steps of our Ministry. Too long have we looked to them with hope and found no answers.
On his election the Minister promised us a unified world. All I see is segregation and hatred.
I hear disquiet from every corner of our society, and yet no one has offered us a solution.
Today I stand here to tell you, that I have those answers. That they are formed by sense, intelligence, and a desire for all people to live safely and freely.
That is why I shall be standing for Minister.
