Charlie had worked incredibly hard to make Katie's first Valentine's Day as his wife an incredible experience. He was so swept up in the occasion that he allowed himself to get carried away, and soon found that he'd purchased far too many gifts. Though, rather than wasting them, he decided to have them delivered at varying intervals during the day to her at Hogwarts where it was her day to practice.
First, he had a box of fine
chocolates delivered from Honeydukes. Despite his encounter with a rather rude sales lady there, he was a loyal fan of Honeydukes and didn't hold it against the shoppe itself.
Second, came the bouquet of
red roses. Yes, he knew they were stereotypical and cliche, but he didn't care. They were also a classic and he knew that his lovely wife would more than appreciate them.
Later in the day, another gift; A
teddy bear, cute and fluffy. Yes, again he knew it was cliche, but he didn't care. Anything for Katie.
And finally, late in the evening when it was nearly time to come home, he had a more signifigant gift sent to her. An adorable pair of
baby booties, wrapped in a small box. He was so excited about the prospect of being a father that he just couldn't resist. Of course, it wouldn't seem romantic to most people, but to him it was likely the most romantic gift in the bunch. For him, it represented their future together, and the hopes that this time next year, they'd be snuggling their own little bundle of joy.
Each gift had a small tag, hand-written by Charlie. Each said: "I love you more than words."
Finally, he'd come home early from work, dinner in hand and had it laid out for her, waiting with warming charms on a candle-lit table.
