A Family at Last (back-dated)

A Hogsmeade Weekend neither of them were required to chaperone meant a good many things depending upon the day. It was a day to catch up on marking, to stay in and read, to pretend there were no other living souls outside the door of their quarters. On this day, however, it meant Remus Lupin and Severus Snape could return home to their unorthodox little family in the house on Spinner's End.
They didn't often return to the house on weekends, and even less often did they do so together. But, today there was a pressing need to visit with June, Glamis, and Zak, what was left of the odd household they had built since war's end. It would be two weeks to the day on Monday evening, two weeks since Severus had asked and Remus had consented to be Bonded to one another. Though Remus had insisted upon informing Harry and Draco first of all, -- endeavors which were met with varying degrees of success -- it was right they should share their good news with the pack, their adopted family, before any further, or more formal, announcements were made. (Neither of them were at all laboring under the illusion they would be able to keep something like this secret for long. Nor did either particularly wish to.)
So, today was the day to tell the pack.
Stepping out of the fireplace to make room for Severus' arrival, Remus brushed soot and floo powder from his teaching robes and glanced about the sitting room. Upon finding it empty, he yelled into the house, "Is anyone home?!", striding forward to look about the ground floor at the same time, eager to gather the others together and share what he considered to be his good fortune.
