Caleb was still adjusting to the idea of going to Stella's parents house when she reppeared holding her broom. His eyes lit up with excitement and he jumped to his feet. "I forgot all about that!" he cried, moving around the table to Stella.

She handed him the broom, and he looked at it with something akin to awe. It had been so long since he'd even so much as held a flying broom, that just having it in his hand brought back memories of school and flying.

"That's brilliant," he finally said, tearing his eyes away from the wood in his hand. "You're brilliant!" he added, putting the broom in one hand and hugging Stella tightly with the other.

He finally let her go, a childlike grin on his face as he handed the broom back to Stella. "Where are we going to fly? I can't imagine we can do it around here, what with there being people everywhere, but we can always Apparate somewhere. Hogwarts maybe? Though I guess any open space would do wouldn't it? Are there rules for this sort of thing? That's probably a stupid question. Right and I'm babbling, sorry," he said, grinning as he rubbed the back of his neck.

Caleb looked like a child at Christmas, the way his eyes lit up when he saw the broomstick. Stella couldn't wipe the grin off her face as she watched his reactions. He was babbling, but in this situation it was definitely warranted, and still very adorable.

"No, no flying around London on broomsticks," Stella laughed, "Especially since it's still somewhat light outside!" She flicked her wand to send all of their dinner dishes to the sink, figuring they could deal with them later, especially since Caleb was so excited.

"I'll apparate us up to Hogsmeade, and we can fly up around the school, or north of there. The only people around for miles are all wizards, so it's really the safest spot." Stella couldn't keep from matching Caleb's grin- she hadn't been flying in ages either.

"We should probably put on some warmer clothes, though-" she considered, looking at Caleb's outfit. It wasn't quite winter yet, of course, but it was far colder up at Hogwarts than it was in London. They would put warming charms on their cloaks, of course, but that never really seemed to cut all of the chill from being out in the air.

The thought of flying around London on a broomstick was oddly appealing. Just to be above the lights and noise and the chaos of the streets below. But Caleb knew that was not only a foolish idea, but one that could get them both in to trouble.

Caleb looked down at his clothes and nodded. "Yeah, I should probably at least put on a jumper or something. I've got a jacket around here somewhere that I'm sure I'll be needing soon enough. Now's as good a time as any to find where I shoved it!"

They took another ten minutes to find warmer clothes and for Caleb to track down his old cloak that he hadn't worn for ages. It took another ten minutes to get out of the flat and Apparated to Hogsmeade. He was nearly bouncing with excitement when they finally reached a spot they could fly from.

"Never done this with two before," Caleb said, a nervous but excited grin on his face. "Try not to dump me on my arse," he added, winking at Stella.
