With some acidic friendliness he looked over both of his companions, noting instantly how well Pansy was dressed and the sardonic (with some very hidden latent threat) look Perry had fixed him with. Sustaining an effective pause for a few prolonged seconds, Montague then addressed Pansy first, for much too numerous and nefarious reasons- half turning toward her and blocking Perry out ( ... )

He turned back to his menu and ignored the both of them. There was no point getting riled up, or even reading too far into it - and besides, he wasn't giving them the satisfaction of seeing him even slightly uncomfortable (though he did hold his menu close to his face to hide a cough when Montague described himself as "humble"). They deserved each other, really. Montague liked to hear himself talk, and Pansy liked to be the center of attention. ...No, really.
But he wasn't going to acknowledge that, he kept his eyes on his menu and it was all he could to do not roll them up at the ceiling. But a small, amused grin did escape, very briefly.
He turned in his menu as well along with his order (he was going light this evening... sausage and mash), and without that distraction, he was forced to notice how Pansy was reclining all over their companion. Unfortunately he missed her disappointed glances, or else he might have realized that she was doing it deliberately. As it was, he wasn't quite sure what she thought she was doing-and right in front of him! Fine, the flirting he could get past, but did they have to touch? And should he be concerned? Perry was still doing his best to conceal his annoyance. Perhaps this was typical Pansy behavior. Perhaps she didn't care how or from who she got attention, and this was nothing to worry about ( ... )
