Perry could have picked a classier, more expensive place than his old favorite. Despite their jesting and Pansy's subtle complaints, Montague did pay him well enough. It was more money than he'd seen in the last five years, anyway. People who experienced sudden windfalls were usually one of two types: those that were so enthusiastic - and too naive - about their new-found fortune that they immediately threw it all away, and those that feared losing it too quickly and thus squirreled it away. Perry leant more to the latter. Now that he had an income, he wasn't keen to see it go. There was a characteristic he could credit to his father, if he was bothered enough to do so.
But The Green Fairy served his purpose. It was familiar territory, it was clean, and the employees knew their way around a bar. Perry had requested a booth away from the main floor, with dimmed lights over the moving prints of musicians that had performed in the past, and a wall to block the ruckus of the talent currently on stage. It was like their own little world.
Perry examined the menu while he and Pansy waited for the remainder of their party with a frown. The Green was the place to be for drinks and music, but not necessarily for food. That wasn't to say their food was bad; because frankly, Perry didn't know.
"So what do you think?" he said, glancing over the menu to Pansy. "Worth the risk?"
