Sounding the Alarm
Date: Thursday, 21 September
Time: 1:30 a.m.
Place: Hogwarts, then Spinner's End, then warning Order Members as quickly as she can.
Characters Involved: Many!
Those blasted Aurors who took Severus wouldn't tell her ANYTHING! However, she was not without her sources, and the Leaky Cauldron was not without its house-elves! No sooner had she swept back to the nearest floo to alert Remus, then a house-elf came to speak with her in obvious distress. After exchanging a few very hurried words with Remus, she turned to the creature to listen to his news. She was in no way reassured by the information, but at least she knew more than she had before.
There were also many other people to be warned! She started with all the Order of the Phoenix members within Hogwarts. Miss Granger, Professor Sinistra, and Hagrid, to be precise. They all received the same brusque message - "The Leaky Cauldron has been attacked and the Dark Mark is in the sky above it! Please start contacting other Order Members as quickly as possible!"
She silently begged his forgiveness for the intrusion of his privacy - and flooed to Severus' quarters, as that was the only floo in the building with direct access to Spinner's End.
Hoping desperately that none of the lycanthropes were particularly grumpy early-risers - unlike their Potions Master housemate, she arrived in the cellar floo and realised there were probably some sort of alarms set to alert the residents of the house when someone passed through. Climbing the stairs with the brisk energy of a much younger woman, she began to call softly through the house.
"June? Glamis? Perry? Zak? It is Minerva! I must speak with you at once, there is not a moment to spare!"
She didn't have to find all of them! One would suffice for the interest of time.
