Today, he had stayed away longer - mostly because he had brought more to unpack in his office and lab - but now curiosity would not be quiescent. Was the werewolf engaging in the same revolting behaviour as he had done yesterday ( ... )

It'd been a fine day, as it always was with him, and Myron thought that life couldn't get better-- because of flowers, colours, balloons, smiles, and funky dresses. Everyone seemed to exhibit happiness and simple contentedness with life, something that they lacked in 'normal' days. Grey, grey, grey, how awful!

Walking down the, what seemed to be infinite, isles, he had to stop at nearly every booth to try out this and that, or- which happened more often - say hi and sign autographs for those few that recognized him. Well, maybe not really few, considering his outstanding appearance and popular icon status. Not that he ever liked that title.

"I love carnivals," he said, sitting down at the closest table of the cafe located near the Kissing Booth. "Hallo, hallo? Garcon!" Myron tried to catch the attention of the man standing behind the counter, talking to countless numbers of clients. (The poor man! - he thought, meanwhile.) "On second thought, I probably don't," he continued, turning to face his chance interlocutor-- who, VOILA! - ( ... )

Severus snorted derisively, casting Wagtail a brief, but not very heated glower. He'd seen the younger man approaching before Wagtail noticed him, so he'd had time to be prepared.

"Hardly," he said dryly. "I have been mentally inventorying my Potions stores to determine if I have enough curatives to cover all the diseases my housemate is likely contracting."

The glower faded into a more complacent expression - Mr Wagtail rarely earnt his ire. Granted, he seldom cared whether the recipient of his temper had earned it, but Wagtail had become somewhat of a special case. The corners of his lips twitched, and he allowed the indulgent smirk to escape.

"I would not object to your use of my given name, Mr Wagtail," he added dryly. "We did spend three days together and I have you to 'blame' for my present appearance."

Millicent was beyond bored. What other reason could she possibly have to be here, in Hogsmeade, at the ever so dull and boring Hogsmeade Carnival. She didn't like outdoor events. She didn't like food served outside either. She didn't like tents. In fact, she didn't really enjoy any of the things that passed for "fun" at this kind of an event ( ... )

Hannah wondered if Professor Trelawney had ever felt as if she were a fraud. Yes, Hannah knew she didn't have the gift, yet the obvious distaste shown on the faces of some who walked by the tent made her feel dirty. So far, one parent had allowed their children to get a reading and an eclectic witch had stopped in. Hopefully as time went on and the festival continued she'd have enough customers to keep both herself and Parvati busy.

Deciding she didn't want to look too eager, Hannah had walked into the back of the tent where she was writing a note to herself so she would remember to tell Parvati she could keep the money from any readings she did. Just as she finished the note she heard a voice call from the entrance of the tent.

Wrapping her shawl around her shoulders Hannah made a few sweeping gestures as she entered the main tent area. "Come in my dear, see what the cards hold for you."

A veritable whirl of vibrant colour and fringe assaulted Millicent’s senses as the other person in the tent made themselves known to her. She was blonde, quite pretty, and Millicent had the undeniable perception that pigtales used to hang where her current hairstyle resided. As she was clearly Millicent’s age, she must be someone Millicent knew or should remember. Millicent focused her attention more precisely on the witch's face. Most people looked enough like they had at Hogwarts to be recognizable with some well thought out deliberation. Obviously she was not a Slytherin of any comparable class or Millicent would remember her vividly ( ... )

Seamus was out of breath as he wandered around the Carnival looking for Hannah’s tent. He’d promised the lass that he’d stop by to see her and let her tell his fortune. He’d been so busy between The Leaky Cauldron and The Hogs Head that he had not had a chance to go looking for the lass before now.

He found her across from the Kissing booth and nearly didn’t go in. He was mightily amused to see Remus looking so overwhelmed and over kissed; plus the line to kiss the lovely Fleur was just as long. Knowing he wouldn’t have time to even say hello to either of them, he went over to Hannah’s tent and peeked inside the booth to see if the lass was occupied with another fortune seeker.

“Hannah lass? Cheers, luv, ‘tis just this Seamus come to reveal all his deepest and darkest secrets to you lass!”

Hannah looked up from where she was seated shuffling her deck. She hadn't had any customers since Millicent and was more than happy to see a familiar face.

"I was begining to wonder if you'd forgotten me," she teased knowing that he'd probably been quite busy. Afterall, he'd probably been running himself ragged between all the locations that he had previously mentioned his liability to.

She motioned to the chair across the table from her hoping Seamus would take a seat. Even if he didn't have the time for a reading he could enjoy a moment or two off his feet.

Seamus laughed good-naturedly and gatefully took the seat that she offered him.

“Aye, lass, ‘tis a right fine booth you’ve got set up here then!” He noticed that his chair was comfortable enough to sit in for a while, but not so comfortable as to make him want to settle in for a chat. He’d been there when the lass picked them out, so he’d known they’d be serviceable.

“Well then, has your business been brisk now?” He wondered if she’d had enough readings to make her want to come back next year for the Carnival. “Right, are you all tuckered out from revealing great truths then? Or have you got time to be after finding me wild Irish secrets?” He laughed and gave her a wink. He’d be glad to pay her for a reading, since he’d promised he’d come visit her at the Carnival. He wasn’t sure he’d ever had a reading before, unless Lavender had done them in the common room and he’d just ignored whatever she said. He supposed that was equally likely.

The light laughter in Seamus's voice was a comforting sound after the tense reading she'd just given. It was one thing to know that you weren't really that effective at divination. Totally another to have someone verify that information for you whether they did so intentionally or not.

"Business has been slower than I'm used to," she admitted. "Then again the wizarding world doesn't put as much faith in diviation as Muggles do." She fingered the deck of cards that she had lowered into her lap. "Determining your secrets, eh?" She kept her eyes trained on the customer across the table. "That all depends on if you're willing to abandon all to the cards or if you have walls in place."
