Wet. Everything was wet -deluged and damp with the avid, greedy tears that made salty white lines down the glasses and down the forehead. It could be called 'walking on water'. Transparent umbrella over his shoulder, Terry, dressed in his favourite suit, walked in the backdoor of Hopping & Aperture's. His shoes squeaked quietly on the floor as he made his way up the back corridor towards the front of the building. Today he was barely punctual. (Risky business ( ... )

And there was Terry; Luna heard him before she saw him. She looked up and smiled--vapid, but cheerful--and blinked at his question... which, a beat later, he answered himself.

She continued to smile. "Yes, he should be arriving soon."

The smile disappeared and she returned to her folder. It looked like everything was in order, which meant she wouldn't have to keep Colin waiting when he arrived. He'd be as cheerful as ever, she thought, and probably very excited to be starting the new job....

Her head lifted again and she looked to Terry, who was staring at the window. She followed his gaze, then looked back, blinking.

"What?" Had she misheard him? Was she meant to hear him?

Time. It flew by so quickly, didn't it? ..And sometimes not, especially when it was one of those uneventful, dreary days. Time was not your friend. Colin had to leave Jasper at his parents': he couldn't just leave him in the apartment, and he wasn't sure whom to bring his companion to. Perhaps it was time to find himself a dog sitter.

After Apparating to a safe point, Colin's black umbrella opened to shield himself from the rain. It wasn't a color (even if it wasn't actually a color) that the boy would go for, but it was cheap. Now that he had two jobs, he was sure he would get a decent amount of money. He's going to have to fix up his schedule, though.. and Colin was sure to be a lot busier.

He finally reached Hopping & Aperture's studio, gazing up at the shop with his usual bright smile. Despite the gloomy weather, his mood conquered. He shook some of the water from his umbrella and folded it before entering his new job. He lowered his umbrella, holding it by his side, and greeted the H&A staff.

"Morning."

Tearing his gaze from the streets, Terry looked at Luna. She blinked- he blinked. And as the boy opened his mouth to speak, the bell gave a small tinkle and Colin walked into the shop. Terry held up a finger as if to say 'later' and turned towards Colin, sliding onto a stool as he did so. "Boker tov, Colin."

The new employee looked just as bright as ever. Terry, resting his chin in his palm, smiled weakly. In the back of his mind he knew he should he off to the darkroom, but well... he felt like sitting for a few minutes and watching the rain fall. Rainy days were among the favourites of Terry-- he preferred them over sunny days, naturally. It was a nice day, really. Clean. Rain cleaned.

Luna looked to the door when it opened, and then whipped her head back to Terry as he lifted his finger, and tilted it just slightly in puzzlement. But, she had no time to dwell on what had not been said; she'd just have to wait, it seemed. Securing a smile to her face, Luna walked from behind the counter.

"Good morning, Colin." Wet day... Luna took out her wand and flicked it at a few puddles on the floor, making quick work of them. Mr. Hopping would fuss if he saw his floors shining with anything but wax.

"I have your paperwork right here. We'll go in the back and fill it out, and then I can give you a tour of the shop."
