This is your initiation, part II

It had been a full week and a day since Luna had last been inside Hopping & Aperture's, and it felt like so much longer. But she was there at eight o'clock, ready to help get the paperwork and equipment in order for the day. Frances and Barry had taken care of much of it while she was gone--he was there this morning, too. It was a full house as the shop prepared for their booth at the Hogsmeade Annual Carnival along with their everyday duties, and to boot, they had a new employee coming in.
Mr. Hopping was nervous--and therefore irritated--as he considered the last two employees he'd hired. Barry and Frances, at least, were very much looking forward to Colin's arrival at nine o'clock.
Luna showed no excitement or happiness. In fact, she had shown little emotion since she'd arrived. She smiled every now and then, to show that she was alert and happy to be back, but other than that she was as vapid and disconnected as ever. Her secret world had her to itself, today.
Strange; she thought she could be a little more cheerful than this.
But, there was no point hiding from her friends any longer. Everything would be fine. She frowned lightly as she carefully assorted a few documents into a folder at the front desk.
