((ooc: FYI: Snape has had a bit of a style improvement at the hands of Myron Wagtail, including a haircut to a style more similar to the fanart I use in the banner on my userinfo page.))

Severus Apparated to Hogsmeade and strode briskly away from the village toward the school. He had no wish to be seen by anyone who might recognise him - as if they would recognise him - he scarcely knew himself. Why he had let Wagtail talk him into...

Well, there was no help for it, and he was certainly not going to allow some superficial cosmetic changes interfere with his focus. What mattered here and now was his research. He had reverted to his usual black robes for the comfort of familiarity - and the hopes that it would add to his intimidation factor.

Unfortunately, Pomona Sprout was hanging about when he arrived, and while she was very accommodating to open a greenhouse for their discussion, and scarcely did a double-take at his haircut, she was also very severe with him. Apparently Minerva had mentioned the nature of his business with Longbottom, and Sprout had a great deal to say about 'fair and reasonable compensation'.

Since Severus relied heavily on her good will and ingredient-provision while teaching, not getting on her 'bad-side' was a powerful motivating force.

He would have to pay the boy. IF he produced a workable end-product.

Severus laid his soft-sided black briefcase on one of the empty trestle-tables - this greenhouse had apparently just completed construction and held no plants or paraphernalia at all, yet - and then pulled over two four-legged stools, sitting on one to wait for Longbottom's arrival.
