Seamus opened up The Leaky Cauldron on Sunday morning, and was glad to do it, having slept much better for the first time in weeks. He’d wondered if the runs he’d taken the past few days had done the trick, and he'd done the same this glorious summer morning, running swifty beside the Thames, yet never matching its rushing current. He’d finished up in Diagon Alley near nine, marveling at the quiet of the place with the sun so high in the sky.
After showering and donning his usual causual clothing for a long double shift at The Leaky, he made his way downstairs and started off his morning ritual of inventory and refreshing whatever was needed both behind the bar and in the pub proper. He had the time and the waitresses had not yet arrived. Cook was busy in the kitchen with the House-elves, but he amused himself by singing. He sang a couple of his favorites,
The Time I’ve Lost in Wooing and
The Girl I left behind me. His fine tenor rang out in the empty tavern and he thought fondly of Kenmare, missing the accompanying voices of his Da and his prat brothers. It was times like this he most missed the voices of home.
